1. Differences in salary and working conditions
a. Women earn a different salary (lower salaries).
The average full time weekly wage for a woman is 15.3% less tan a man
b. Many women have a part time job (in order to look after children, elderly people, people with disability or long -term health
c. Women don’t work (in order to look after children, elderly people, people with disability or long -term health condition).
d. Discrimination as a result of their pregnancy.
1 in 2 mothers were victims of discrimination as a result of their pregnancy, parentalleaveor on return to work.
1 in 5mothers indicated that they were made redundant,restructured or their contract was not renewed.
e. Few women on company boards.
f. traditional male jobs (pilots, engineers, politicians,footballers…)
2. Unpaid work(household chores)
Women in Spain spend almost double the among of time they dedicate to care for family members and household chores
3. Gender violence./Domestic violence.
One in two women have experienced sexual harasssment during their lifetime.
One in three women have experienced physical or sexual violence since the age of 15. One in five women have experienced violence by a partner since the age of 15.
